The winning drivers for the North American Racing Team on a Ferrari 250 LM: Masten Gregory (USA) and Jochen Rindt (A).

After all the works Ferraris and Fords retired at Le Mans victory was left to the NART entered Ferrari 250LM of Jochen Rindt/Masten Gregory and Ed Hugus, the last ever Ferrari Le Mans win. Following Rindt is the Hopkirk/Hedges MGB.

All the Ford GT40s retired at Le Mans due to stretched head bolts that led to head gasket failures on the 289 cubic inch (4.7 litre) engines. This is the F. English (a Bournemouth Ford dealership owned by Col. Ronnie Hoare of Maranello Concessionaires) chassis 1006 driven by Innes Ireland/John Whitmore in the Esses showing its distinctive Len Bailey redesigned nose. It is followed by the Klass/Glemser works Porsche 904/6 (906-12) and the Maranello Concessionaires Ferrari 250LM (5895) of L. Bianchi/Salmon.
