All the Ford GT40s retired at Le Mans due to stretched head bolts that led to head gasket failures on the 289 cubic inch (4.7 litre) engines. This is the F. Ronnie Hoare of Maranello Concessionaires) chassis 1006 driven by Innes Ireland/John Whitmore in the Esses showing its distinctive Len Bailey redesigned nose.
