Two more Ford GT40s follow, the Ed Nelson/Peter de Klerk 1009 and Colin Crabbe's 1021 with its distinctive roof blister to accommodate Crabbe's height, co-driven by Roy Pierpoint. Further up the line can be glimpsed Paul Vestey's dark blue Ferrari 275GTB/C (9035) the ex-Maranello Concessionaires 1966 Le Mans car.

The Chaparral 2F (002) driven by Phil Hill and Mike Spence set the fastest practice time at the 1967 Nurburgring 1000 Kms and briefly led the race until the automatic gearbox broke, a familiar story during the season. The rugged construction of the Chaparral with its sturdy wing and struts is a stark contrast to the flimsy, skeletal rubbish that adorned F1 cars in 1968/9.
