Further up the line can be glimpsed Paul Vestey's dark blue Ferrari 275GTB/C (9035) the ex-Maranello Concessionaires 1966 Le Mans car.

Jo Bonnier in the Lotus-Cosworth 49B which was only entered at this race by the Swedish Ecurie Bonnier. He was the last private 'gentleman' driver and died in an accident during the 24hs of Le Mans on June 11th 1972.

This race provided a memorable battle for the lead between Jackie Stewart (car no. 3) and Jochen Rindt (no. 2), the pair running nose to tail for most of the race.
